Well, I haven't been doing very well at sticking to my sketch-a-day plan. Sometimes I've forgotten, sometimes I'm just too busy, and then there have been those days where instead of starting a new drawing I've gone back and touched up one I did the day before. Altogether though, I think I could have done better.
Still, I am improving I think. I've just uploaded the one of jack, the one that worked. I've got two other attempts sitting next to me here which kinda failed. Not that they didn't work at all, but I couldn't get his head shape correct. I think his nose isn't straight and it threw off my perception of which direction he was actually facing. I'm learning to put more effort into getting developing the shape through the use of shadows rather than drawing what I know to be the outline of an object. Doesn't work so well when I try to draw what I know to be there, rather it works better to draw the negative of what I actually see. Does that make sense? Probably not, but it's the best way of explaining what's been going through my head.
On another note, I've had a story going through my head for the last year or so that I've finally started to write down. I've spent long hours now thinking it through, developing an overall plot. It's only been recently though, with Mass Effect still in the back of my mind that it's come together. I'm not copying anything from Mass Effect, at least I don't think so, but it's helped to push the reaches of my imagination. If you want to compare the plot to something, compare it more to Raymond E. Feist's 'Magician'. I might come out with a taster/first chapter in a month or so to test the waters. My sister is sure to comment and provide good advice.
Anyway, that's it from me.
Wacko out.
